{ Emily & Brendan • September 29, 2012 • St. Michaels Wedding }

I had photographed Emily’s sister Phoebe’s wedding a few years ago and was so flattered that the family came to me again for another happy event. And, since I remembered what great fun Phoebe’s wedding was, I could only believe the Emily would continue the tradition!

Well, they didn’t let me down- it was great working with Emily and Brendan! These two Naval Academy grads really knew how to have fun while giving the nod to family, tradition and style.

I first worked with them on a hot summer day all around the lovely grounds of their alma mater in Annapolis. Anyone who’s ever been lucky enough to visit the Naval Academy knows how beautiful the campus is and since Emily and Brendan knew it intimately, they could show me places that I hadn’t seen before and were fabulous backgrounds for their engagement pictures.

So when late September rolled around, I couldn’t wait to see how their wedding day would showcase their personalities and relationship. Things I know: I know that they’ve spent a lot of time apart while fulfilling their commitments, likely more than most couples have. Consequently, I know they truly appreciate and treasure time together “in the same zip code”! I know that family is so important to them and that their wedding would be defined by all these things, plus LOVE!

And that’s exactly how their wedding day played out- from the beautiful waterfront setting in Emily’s parent’s backyard- the house she grew up in- to the vintage Rolls Royce originally owned by her grandfather that she rode in to and from the church, to a surprise classic wooden boat floating in the pool at the cocktail hour setting, all was unique and high style.

I so loved working with Emily and Brendan and wish them many, many warm and loving days in the same zip code!!
